Prince Tagore

Prince Tagore, full name – Probir Chakravarty (Prince Tagore). Born on November 29, 1979, in a respectable Brahmin family (Tagore bari) of Rundia village located in Bichali Union-12, Ward-3 under Sadar Police Station under Narail District, Bangladesh. Father – Late Gaurangadeb Chakravarty, mother – Anima Rani Chakravarty, wife – Dipali Rani Chakrabarty (Dipa), son – Promit Chakravarty (Dipro), daughter – Pronika Chakravarty (Divya), elder brother – Gautambuddha Chakravarty, elder sister in law – Rupa Rani Chakravarty, niece – Godhuli Chakravarty (Ichche) and younger sister – Shilpi Rani Chakravarty (Shilamoni). He (Prince Tagore) is the middle of three siblings.

He started his primary education in 1984 at Rundia Government Primary School in his village. In 1989, after completing his primary studies, he was admitted to the sixth grade at Kodla Secondary School, located four kilometers away from the village. Walking along the sidewalk with his classmates to school was a different kind of fun. However, during the rainy season, there is no limit to the hardships. From that moment on, the journey of crossing the boundaries of his home alone began. From this secondary school, he obtained the first division in the SSC examination in the humanities department from the Jessore Board in 1994.

Being a lover of artistically minded creative work, he became fond of the art of the world-renowned painter SM Sultan, the pride of Narail district and the pride of Bangladesh, the leader of art. He devoted his attention and knowledge to painting. In the meantime, he became known as a painter in his own area and its surroundings. He got involved in decorating any religious or personal event. From then on, his enthusiasm increased twofold, and so, hoping to become a painter, he was steadfast in his decision to study at Khulna Art College located in Boyra village of Khulna divisional city. Therefore, according to the advice of his family and elder brother, he participated in the admission test of Jessore MM College and Jessore Cantonment College. Without waiting for the results, he participated in the admission test of the art college and passed it with distinction and was admitted there. Cherishing art in his heart, he dedicated himself to the pursuit of art.

Then in 1996, he obtained the second division in the BFA (Pre-Degree) i.e. HSC equivalent examination under Rajshahi University. He accepted the results achieved in these circumstances, economic and political pressure, and got admitted to the BFA degree. In 2001, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the BFA, Drawing and Painting department under the National University. But since the results of the examination were not as expected here too, he decided to participate in the bachelor’s degree examination in fine arts from the BFA, Drawing and Painting department again the next year i.e. in 2002. Whatever he said, he did. But due to family and financial difficulties, the expenses of regular classes (canvas, watercolor, oil paint, acrylic, brush, pencil, cartridge paper, various tools, etc.), house/hostel rent, food expenses, tuition to manage pocket expenses, taking coaching classes, and devoting time to various events did not allow for proper study and classes. Therefore, instead of the expected results, he remained in the second division as before. In his heart of sorrow, defeated by the cruel irony of fate, he left Khulna city and moved to his village/father’s house.

Due to the financial strain of the family due to rural politics and his father’s illness, he started working on project-based work contracts in Narail Sadar Upazila and Abhaynagar Upazila under the Government Primary Education Department. While running around to earn money to support the family, his dream of earning a higher degree (MFA, PhD) at Santiniketan in Kolkata remained a dream. Meanwhile, the project-based work ended. Slowly, the responsibility of the family came and fell on his shoulders. For this reason, in order to earn money quickly, he studied computer education, which is at the forefront of modern technology, with a Diploma in Computer Science and Technology in 2004 and a Diploma in Graphic Design and Multimedia Education in 2007.

In 2004, after being troubled by the allegations of lack of money, he joined the teaching profession at a kindergarten school located in Nawapara Bazar under Abhaynagar police station in Jessore district for a nominal salary. This great painter, poet and theater actor began his colorful career in the teaching profession. He joined Rabeya Advanced English and Computer School (2004-2006) Nawapara, Jessore as an assistant teacher in the arts and crafts department. Later, he served as Vice Principal and Hall Superintendent. There, along with arts and crafts, he was given the responsibility of conducting computer education classes. Later, he worked as Principal (2007) at Sunflower Education School Nawapara, Jessore. He also worked as a computer trainer at Jubo Computer and Commercial (2004-2006) and Computer World (2004-2006) Nawapara, Jessore.

Along with this, with the desire to do something of his own, he founded the educational and entertainment organization Media World (2005-2007) Nawapara, Jessore with some enterprising young people. He served as the founding senior advisor at Ma Production (2005-2007) Nawapara, Jessore. He was the literary and cultural editor at Rundia Maladhara Katha Kaja Jubo Sangha (1999-2007) Abhaynagar, Jessore.

After doing teaching and other public welfare work with great reputation for five years, he left all these and moved to the capital Dhaka. Coming to the capital, it took some time to cope with the new place, new environment, and unfamiliar city. In the meantime, he joined the Prochar Group of Publications located in Kakrail, Dhaka in 2008 as an artist and senior graphics designer. A year later, in 2009-2010, he was appointed as the Executive Editor of the educational and entertainment monthly magazine School Bichitra and as the Senior Staff Reporter of the fortnightly financial news newspaper in the same organization. He worked there for three years. Then, he got the opportunity to work as a professional artist and creative designer in several advertising agencies and groups of companies in Dhaka city.

2010-2012 as a Visualizer at Frontline Communications Limited, Paltan, Dhaka. 2013 as a Creative Designer at Wiseman Bogie Consultant Private Limited, a sister concern of RAK Group, Uttara, Dhaka. 2013 as an Art Director at Dag Communications, Banani (DOHS), Dhaka. 2014-2017 as a Senior Visualizer at Pearl Communications Private Limited, Banani, Dhaka. 2017 as an Art Director at Geeky Social, Niketan, Gulshan 1. Along with this, he fulfilled his dream of getting a higher degree. In 2014, he received a Master of Fine Arts degree in the Department of Graphic Design from the University of Development Alternative (UODA), Dhanmondi, Dhaka.

From 2017 to 2024, he was working with a good reputation at Auto Crop Care Limited, a sister concern of Group QA, Banani, Dhaka (Group of Company), with responsibility for the Graphics Design Department as a Senior Officer. He also published and served as the Founding Assistant Editor (2019), Shopnolok (Art, Literature and Culture Magazine), Dhaka. Currently, he is working with a good reputation at CEMS Global Bangladesh (Conference & Exhibition Management Services Ltd.), North Badda, Dhaka, with responsibility for the Creative and Design Department as a Senior Manager since February 2024.

By profession, he is a painter and creative designer. Due to the shortage of stylist Bengali fonts for design purposes, at the end of 2015, on his own initiative, he created a full-family Ankora font named ‘DiproAD’, an ANSI true-type font. On February 21, 2016, the full-font family Bangla font dedicated to the memory of the language martyrs was made available online for users. The font is supported by Bijoy Bangla Keyboard. Which received a huge response from everyone. At the same time, he was praised by all the users. The font has been Unicoded by DiproAD-Regular. Due to lack of time, he is not able to go far. As far as I know, he has created several other stylist font samples, which have not yet been developed as fonts.

Due to his work in various advertising agencies/companies, he has designed logos, branding and brand guidelines for many companies. He has also done TV advertising work. He is also designing all kinds of product promotional items including packaging/pouches, bottles/cans/jar level stickers, billboards, etc. As a cover artist, he has designed the covers of more than fifty books published at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair.

The common childhood is called cultural. And from that source, he walked in the cultural arena. His first lesson in writing is in the shadow of his beloved father Shri Gourangadev Chakravarty and the practice of expressing the unspoken in the touch of the pen. It is his father who gave him the first constructive and constructive advice in writing. It is said that his father was the first reader and guide of his writing. He has seen and experienced many things like drawing, creative designing, singing and writing poems, songs, short stories, plays, comedy, art subjects and many more.

He writes in a traditional style. His writings skillfully cover the world of truth and falsehood, light and darkness, equality and inequality, love and separation. During his student days, he published the short stories of alternative weekly literature ‘An’ya (Other)’ and ‘Megh’ with the help of friends. The walls have been written on different days and dates. In addition, various newspapers, magazines, and magazines have been developed with Bangla blogs – Somewhere in Blog, Choturmatrik, Golpo-Kabita, Social Media Prince Tagore on Facebook. His poetry is analyzed in the genre online blog ‘Amar Kherokhata’ http://artndesignbd.com/blog-page/. Several poems there have resonated with the hearts of readers.

His poems were published in the book ‘Bangladesh Poets and Poems’ 2017, edited by Shafiq Saiful of Sahityadesh Publishing. With the love and inspiration of the readers, the first poetry book ‘Sukh Sukh Kosto’ was published in Amar Ekushey Book Fair in 2019, the second poetry book ‘Shunnotar Ghran’ in 2020, and the third poetry book ‘Akchilte Roddur’ in 2021. The manuscript work is underway to publish the fourth poetry book titled ‘Prem Kabyo’ later. I hope that the poems in this poetry book will also win everyone’s hearts like the poems in the previously published poetry books.

The poems of the poet’s poetry are written by the poet, using active and creative words, addressing common topics in a row. He thinks that the play of words in poetry reading has lost the reader of poetry. Therefore, this is his attempt to create new readers along with interest in lost poetry.

Efforts to prevent injuries and conflicts, in Arabic pursuit, he copes with the ups and downs of life, in the practice of poetry until the end of his life, he is in the video soaked in all the unyielding love.
